The Wallet, Payments, and Commerce team is dedicated to delivering a suite of services and platforms that allow users to easily, privately, securely, and responsibly digitize their wallet. Leveraging our main frameworks, Apple Pay (for payments), and Apple Wallet (for a wide range of other wallet style functionality), our partners can offer simple, private, and secure experiences that build on our goals to safeguard our users' information and to protect their financial health.
Description
We are looking for an experienced Fraud Manager to manage and execute risk and fraud prevention measures for the Apple Pay and Apple Wallet. Based in Tokyo, this is a key externally-facing role, requiring you to develop and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of partners — including banks, payment card issuers, transit operators, and payment networks.

Responsibilities
- Drive execution of the fraud prevention program in alignment with global strategy
- Drive continuous improvement in fraud detection and prevention systems, processes, and controls with partners
- Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with risk and fraud teams at partner organizations, including issuing banks, payment networks, and transit operators
- Monitor and analyze fraud trends and performance metrics, and optimize fraud operations through process refinement and best practices in case management to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Lead regular business reviews and workshops with partners to drive alignment, share insights, and improve fraud prevention efforts
- Identify fraud-related challenges and emerging needs through partner engagement, and develop recommendations on fraud prevention capabilities and product enhancements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Technical Product Management, Fraud Operations, Product, Engineering and Data Science, to resolve technical and operational issues and support partner implementation of fraud mitigation solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
- Fluent oral and written communication and presentation skills in both Japanese and English
- 5+ years of professional experience delivering tangible results in a fraud prevention role in financial services
- Deep knowledge of the payments ecosystem, including various payment networks, fraud detection technologies, and emerging trends
- Demonstrated success in handling and optimizing counter-fraud operations and processes
- Problem solver with strong analytical skills and uncompromising attention to details that drive issues to root cause
- Proficiency in using complex data and to translate complex information into actionable insights
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, and comfortable engaging across internal and external stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Korean
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and other data analytic tools
- Ability to operate seamlessly between highly detailed technical concepts and broader strategic business needs
- Ability to see the big picture and be comfortable with ambiguity; flexibility to adapt to change and respond quickly to emerging priorities
