- Contribute to the development of In-Orbit Servicing (IOS), Active Debris Removal (ADR), Rendezvous and Docking (RVD) missions and related applications
- Analyse customer, mission and system requirements, including functional analyses, specification tree development and identification of required design adaptations
- Perform requirements engineering activities, including the decomposition and allocation of requirements to platform and subsystem level using DOORS and Polarion
- Monitor compliance with system requirements, coordinate with the Project Chief Engineer and Project Management, and initiate appropriate corrective actions where necessary.
- Support trade-off analyses and contribute to the definition of mission and system architectures.
- Contribute to the design and development of space systems, covering mission design, system architecture, subsystem definition and technical specifications.
- Manage and maintain system-level engineering budgets, including performance, mass, power and data budgets.
- Support interface management and budget management within the assigned engineering domain
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the system Concept of Operations (CONOPS)
- Coordinate technical activities across subsystems, including impact assessments resulting from requirement changes, under the guidance of the Project Chief Engineer
- Support the technical coordination and management of subcontractors
- Provide direct engineering support and technical reporting to the Project Chief Engineer
- Support key system engineering reviews, including PDR, CDR and verification planning activities
- Assist in the implementation of approved design changes and the management of engineering deviations and non-conformances, including RFWs, RFDs and NCRs
- Contribute to system and subsystem verification activities, including the definition of test plans, test procedures and the evaluation of test results
- Prepare and maintain project documentation by coordinating technical inputs and documenting assigned work packages
- Support the preparation of technical proposals and bids for ADR and in-orbit servicing missions
Your Qualifications
- You hold a degree in Aerospace Engineering or a comparable technical field and have gained several years of experience in Systems Engineering, ideally within the space industry or another high-tech environment
- You are familiar with the full engineering lifecycle, from requirements analysis and specification development to defining system architectures and managing interfaces across complex projects
- You enjoy working in multidisciplinary teams and are confident communicating with a wide range of technical stakeholders
- A structured, solution-oriented approach, combined with creativity and a collaborative mindset, enables you to successfully tackle complex engineering challenges
- Experience in Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) and Rendezvous & Docking (RvD) would be a valuable asset. Fluency in English is essential, while German language skills are considered a plus
