Designation: Senior Firmware Engineer
Location: Raleigh/Durham/Morrisville/Cary, NC (Onsite/Hybrid)
Role Summary
Looking for a senior firmware engineer to support the migration of multiple enterprise platforms from Broadcom Atlas 2 to Atlas 3 PCIe switch technology. This initiative requires firmware adaptation, platform integration, validation, and sustainment support to ensure continuity of existing products while enabling next-generation capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support migration from Atlas 2 to Atlas 3 PCIe switch architecture across multiple platforms.
- Develop and validate switch firmware changes required for feature parity and platform compatibility.
- Work with hardware, firmware, and architecture teams to support board bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting.
- Assist with PCIe switch configuration, DMA routing, GPU-to-GPU communication, and interoperability testing.
- Perform root-cause analysis and resolve firmware and platform issues during qualification and deployment.
- Support sustainment of Atlas 2-based platforms while Atlas 3 migration activities are underway.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of firmware or embedded systems development experience.
- Strong C/C++ and Embedded Linux expertise.
- Experience with PCIe architecture, PCIe switches, and server platform firmware.
- Hands-on experience with hardware-software integration and low-level debugging.
- Familiarity with data center, storage, AI, or HPC platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Broadcom PCIe switch technologies (Atlas/PEX family).
- Knowledge of UEFI, BMC/XClarity, Redfish, CXL, GPUs, and accelerator-based systems.
- Experience working with OEM server platforms and platform validation teams.
Success Criteria
- Successful Atlas 3 enablement across targeted platforms.
- Minimal disruption to existing Atlas 2 products.
- Accelerated qualification, improved platform stability, and timely product readiness.
