A global Insurer is looking to hire a Lead Pricing / Data Specialist to join a well established team. They are looking for some who has strong predicitive modelling experience within the London Market and is comfortable working with unstructured data. The person whould also need to have a strong interest in Data Science.
This is a lead role with one off shore resource and project lead responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business teams to understand their challenges and prioritize analytics solutions.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to solve complex business problems.
- Build strong relationships across departments to support project goals and broader team needs.
- Lead the development of predictive models using GLMs, NLP, and machine learning techniques.
- Generate actionable insights using advanced analytics tools and methodologies.
- Explore and analyze internal and external datasets for model development.
- Establish best practices and repeatable processes for the Strategic Analytics team.
- Provide thought leadership on innovative analytics techniques, approaches, and software.
- Mentor and support a team of predictive modelers and data scientists.
Role Requirements & Skills
- Strong London Market experience
- Strong ability to design and implement statistical models using predictive modeling, NLP, and data mining techniques.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analytics using Python, R, and/or SQL.
- Familiarity with cloud-based platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure) is a plus.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and ability to work in ambiguous situations.
- Experience in advanced analytics, preferably in the insurance industry.
