JOB TITLE: Engineering Analyst II / FIMP-SIMP Data Analyst/Advisor
LOCATION: North York, Ontario
DURATION: 1 Year Contract - Possible Extension
WORK MODEL: Hybrid – In-office Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; Remote Wednesday and Friday
PAY RATE: $27–$28/hr on T4 without benefits
JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role resides within the Facilities and Storage Integrity teams and focuses on sites that connect multiple pipelines or supply gas to customers and perform functions such as increasing or decreasing pressure, measuring and conditioning natural gas, as well as storage wells and associated assets.
The team develops inspection plans for these sites and assesses inspection results to support fitness-for-service decisions and confirm that assets are safe for continued service.
The role will focus on the collection, review and management of relevant records and integrity documents, including design drawings, confirmation of data from the field, and past condition-monitoring activities. Data must be accessible, readable and traceable.
The work covers facilities and storage assets and includes travel and fieldwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assess current data gaps.
- Conduct records searches and implement a process for proper data management.
- Perform quality assurance on collected data.
- Perform data mining to support assessments.
- Support execution of field work to close data gaps.
- Provide analytical support to Integrity Engineers.
- Consolidate information acquired into reports and communications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in Integrity, Engineering and/or Operations in the energy sector.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent data analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with MS Office software, Adobe Reader and MS Teams.
- Proficient with MS Excel and programming.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in station engineering, station integrity, gas transmission and distribution operations, or gas storage operations within the oil and gas industry.
- Experience and understanding of station design, construction practices, field operations and service procedures.
- Experience with ProjectWise or similar records management systems.
- Experience with modelling/coding in SPSS software or similar.
TRAVEL AND FIELD REQUIREMENTS:
- Some travel to the US is required; valid passport or applicable visa is required.
- Some driving within Ontario may be required for site visits.
- A driver's abstract is required.
- The role is primarily an office role with field and site visits as required.
- Expenses for travel are reimbursed when approved prior to the expense being incurred.
- Mileage allowance: $0.74/KM.
SCHEDULE:
- 8 hours per day.
- 40 hours per week.
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Start time by 9:00 AM and work until at least 3:00 PM daily.
- Hybrid work model: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in-office; Wednesday and Friday remote.
