Referment is working with a fintech company to hire a Senior Frontend Engineer for its product engineering team. You will work on consumer applications where usability, performance and security all matter to the experience customers have with their money.
The role combines feature delivery with improving existing interfaces. Working alongside engineers and designers, you will take work from an initial idea through implementation and review, with the opportunity to contribute to product decisions.
The Role
- Build features and refine interfaces across the business's consumer applications.
- Work with design colleagues to turn product requirements into clear, usable experiences.
- Consider performance and security as part of implementation, alongside readable, maintainable code.
- Review colleagues' work and share technical knowledge across the team.
What We're Looking For
- At least five years in software engineering, including two years working with JavaScript.
- Experience building complex web applications using React or a comparable frontend framework.
- The ability to explain technical choices clearly and learn unfamiliar tools when the work requires them.
- An interest in both how an interface looks and how reliably it behaves.
Useful Additional Experience
UX design or open-source contributions would be useful. The wider environment includes React Native, Angular and GraphQL/Relay, but prior experience with every tool is not essential.
This could suit a product-focused frontend engineer who enjoys working closely with design and taking responsibility for the quality of the finished experience.
