Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Rubrik Backup & Recovery Engineer to manage, monitor, and support enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring data protection, business continuity, backup reliability, and disaster recovery readiness across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage the Rubrik Data Management Platform.
- Configure and maintain backup, recovery, archival, and replication policies.
- Monitor backup jobs and troubleshoot backup and recovery failures.
- Perform data restoration for files, databases, VMs, and applications.
- Manage Rubrik integrations with:
- VMware vSphere
- Microsoft Hyper-V
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle
- Microsoft 365
- Azure / AWS / GCP
- Configure and manage SLA Domains, retention policies, and compliance requirements.
- Perform regular backup health checks and capacity planning.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and Business Continuity initiatives.
- Generate backup reports and maintain operational documentation.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Storage, Network, and Security teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure backup infrastructure meets organizational security, compliance, and audit requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Rubrik Backup & Recovery.
- Good knowledge of VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Linux, and storage technologies.
- Strong understanding of backup and recovery concepts, including:
- Snapshots
- Replication
- Retention
- Recovery
- Archival
- Experience with SQL Server and Oracle backup/recovery.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 backup.
- Understanding of at least one cloud platform: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or scripting for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise backup environments and DR operations.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Rubrik SLA Domains and policy configuration.
- Knowledge of Ransomware Protection / Immutable Backups.
- Experience with Rubrik CDM / Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC).
- Knowledge of backup compliance and audit requirements.
- Experience participating in DR drills and recovery testing.
- Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
