Role Description The Ireland Student Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Ernakulam. This role involves providing one-on-one counseling to students interested in pursuing higher education in Ireland, including explaining course options, university requirements, and eligibility criteria. The counselor will guide students through application procedures, documentation, and timelines, and coordinate closely with admissions teams to ensure accurate and timely submissions. Daily responsibilities include responding to student and parent inquiries, conducting information sessions, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Irish universities and visa regulations, and following up with students throughout the admission and visa process. The role also includes maintaining records in internal systems, participating in outreach activities, and contributing to the continuous improvement of counseling processes and materials.
Qualifications
- Counseling skills covering Student Counseling and Career Counseling, with the ability to guide learners on academic pathways and future career options.
- Strong Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, and the ability to explain complex processes in an accessible way.
- Customer Service capabilities focused on responsiveness, empathy, and building long-term trust with students and families.
- Education-related knowledge and interest in international higher education systems, especially Irish universities and programs.
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; a background in education, psychology, or counseling is an advantage.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling multiple applications, deadlines, and documentation accurately.
- Comfort with using computers, CRM tools, and online application platforms; proficiency in MS Office or similar tools.
- Ability to work on-site in Ernakulam, collaborate with colleagues, and adapt to changing admission and visa requirements.
