Role Description
In this role, the specialist monitors security events, investigates incidents, and responds to threats, ensuring timely detection and mitigation of vulnerabilities. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing security assessments, reviewing configurations, implementing best practices for application and network security, and maintaining security documentation and standards. The specialist collaborates with engineering and operations teams to integrate security controls, supports compliance initiatives, and recommends improvements to strengthen the overall security posture. This role also involves staying current with emerging threats, tools, and frameworks relevant to cybersecurity and sharing insights with internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including threat identification, risk assessment, and security policy implementation.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security and Cyber, including securing network architectures, monitoring traffic, and managing firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including secure coding principles, vulnerability assessment, and remediation of application-level risks.
- Relevant experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) is beneficial.
- Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and log analysis platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., Security+, CEH, CISSP, or similar) are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage priorities independently, and collaborate with distributed teams.
