Role Description The Risk Management Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Greater Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks across business operations, and recommending strategies to mitigate those risks. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing data and processes, preparing risk reports, supporting the implementation of risk policies, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant guidelines and standards. The specialist will also conduct regular risk reviews, participate in audits or assessments, and help design controls to improve operational resilience. The role involves clear documentation, ongoing communication with management, and proactive involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Risk analysis and assessment skills, including the ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize operational and financial risks.
- Competence in data analysis and reporting, with strong attention to detail and proficiency in using spreadsheets or risk management tools.
- Knowledge of risk frameworks, compliance principles, and basic regulatory or industry standards relevant to business operations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a structured approach to designing and implementing risk controls and process improvements.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, economics, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CRM, FRM) are an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Greater Kuala Lumpur, collaborate effectively in a team environment, and manage multiple priorities.
- Prior experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or a related function is preferred but not strictly required for strong entry-level candidates.
