Job Title: GTM Engineer (Growth & Marketing Operations), AI Startup — Start ASAP
Job Summary:
🚀 Own the growth engine at a high growth AI startup led by a multiple time exited founder 🚀
We are hiring a GTM Engineer to take over marketing operations and own how we grow. Full-time, six-month initial term with a path to permanent, starting as soon as you can. We are hiring now.
You will report to Jordan Calderon, a 3x founder who bootstrapped and sold three companies by age 27, the last one a top-100 performance marketing agency in the U.S. that grew 118% year over year for five straight years at 50% net margins. He is now building BreathingRoom, an AI company working at the front edge of agentic AI. You will be learning growth from someone who has already built a growth machine that sold.
Here is what makes this different from every other growth role you are looking at. We build AI agents for a living, and you will build them for yourself. Every repetitive piece of your own job — research, list building, enrichment, personalization, follow-up, reporting — is a candidate for an agent, and you will have our platform and our engineering team to build it. You are not running growth with a Zapier account and a prayer. You are running it with agents working behind you around the clock.
If you see a manual process and cannot leave it alone, this is the best seat in the building.
What You Will Own
- The Outbound Engine: LinkedIn is our primary channel today, running multi-touch sequences across multiple sending profiles. You own the entire machine — targeting, list quality, messaging, sequence logic, send volume, and the number that actually matters, which is qualified meetings booked. Operators and vendors execute inside the system. You design and run the system.
- New Channels: Cold email infrastructure, paid, partnerships, founder-led content. You decide what we open next, you stand it up, and you shut it down fast if it does not produce. We would rather you test five things and kill four than perfect one.
- Data & Targeting: ICP definition, list building, enrichment, scoring, deduping, routing. Bad data is the most expensive thing in outbound. It is yours to fix and yours to keep fixed.
- The Agents That Run It: Build AI agents inside our own agent-building platform to automate your own GTM motion. Test them, break them, and tell the dev team exactly what they need to make them better. You are our first internal customer and our loudest one.
- Pipeline Instrumentation: Own the CRM as the single source of truth and the reporting on top of it. Cost per meeting, reply-to-meeting rate, meeting-to-close, and where deals leak — visible at any time, without anyone hand-building a spreadsheet.
- Conversion Assets: Landing pages, offers, sales collateral, and the messaging that carries a stranger from a cold profile view to a booked call. You write it, you test it, you iterate on it.
- Strategic Sounding Board: You will sit close to the founder and be in the room when real decisions get made. We want your judgment on where to point the company's growth, not only your execution.
What Success Looks Like
- First 30 days: You know our funnel end to end, you have found the three biggest leaks in it, and you have already fixed one.
- By day 60: The outbound engine is running on your design, fully instrumented, and producing more qualified meetings per dollar than it did the day you walked in.
- By day 90: A second channel is live and producing, and at least three parts of your own job are being handled by agents you built.
- By month six: Growth at this company runs on a system you designed, and we cannot imagine running it without you.
Who You Are
- Real reps in growth marketing, demand gen, growth ops, or GTM engineering. Years matter less to us than whether you have personally owned a pipeline number and moved it.
- Autonomous, fully. You get a goal, not a task list. Nobody here is going to check whether you started.
- Technical enough to be dangerous. Enrichment and data tooling, LinkedIn and email automation, workflow builders like n8n or Zapier, CRM automations, APIs and webhooks. You do not need a CS degree. You do need to be the person who wires it together instead of asking someone else to.
- A strong writer. Outbound is writing. Positioning is writing. Most of this job is writing.
- Comfortable in ambiguity. This is early-stage, so the plan changes often. The right person likes that.
- Genuinely curious about AI and already using it. You should have opinions about what agents are good at and where they fall over.
- Fast. Bias to shipping over planning, and to testing over debating.
Compensation & Terms
- Unpaid role with opportunities for competitive bonuses.
- Part-time, six-month initial term, with a path to permanent based on performance.
- Start date is as soon as you are available. We are hiring immediately.
- Hybrid role preferred (half time in Los Angeles).
About BreathingRoom
BreathingRoom builds AI agents that handle real work inside a business around the clock. Rather than chatbots that just answer questions, these are autonomous agents that operate inside the tools a company already uses, like email, CRM, and Slack, and carry out entire workflows on their own from start to finish.
In practice, the agents do things like respond to incoming leads within seconds, generate reports overnight, reconcile invoices, research prospects, and handle the recurring tasks that normally take up a team's time. The work runs continuously without manual oversight.
BreathingRoom is a fully done-for-you service. The company identifies which work is worth automating, builds custom agents for it, deploys them into a business's existing tools, and maintains and improves them over time. The result is companies that operate with the capacity of a much larger team.
How to Apply
Email [email protected]. Send your resume, and send me one thing you actually built — a sequence, a workflow, an automation, a dashboard, a campaign, anything — and tell me in a few sentences what it did to the numbers. I would rather see one real thing you shipped than a perfect resume.
