Director – Medical Information & Medical Affairs

Location: Pune, India

Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Work Arrangement: Primarily Office-Based (Hybrid Flexibility)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Director – Medical Information to lead and oversee Medical Information Contact Center (MICC) operations in India. This is a leadership opportunity for a Medical Information professional with strong client management, people leadership, and pharmaceutical industry experience.

The position will manage multiple clients, projects, Associate Directors, and Project Managers while ensuring high-quality service delivery, operational excellence, and collaboration with global teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage Medical Information Contact Center operations and service delivery.

- Manage, mentor, coach, and develop direct reports, including Associate Directors, Project Managers, and Medical Information teams.

- Oversee multiple client accounts, projects, KPIs, SLAs, and operational deliverables.

- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients and global stakeholders across India, the US, and Europe.

- Drive process improvements, quality management, workforce productivity, and operational efficiency.

- Support client implementation, ongoing account management, audits, and service reviews.

- Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to streamline processes and identify digital and automation opportunities.

- Oversee training, talent development, recruitment, and career progression within the MICC function.

- Ensure compliance with Medical Information processes, adverse event reporting, product complaint handling, and applicable regulatory requirements.

- Support Statement of Work (SOW), invoicing, and client-related business management activities.

Requirements

- Advanced healthcare degree such as MPharm, BPharm, PharmD, MBBS, MD, PhD, or equivalent.

- 8+ years of experience in Medical Information and/or pharmaceutical industry operations, preferably with Medical Information Contact Center experience.

- Strong people management and leadership skills with experience managing large or multi-level teams.

- Proven client-facing and stakeholder management experience.

- Strong understanding of Medical Information industry best practices and US regulatory requirements related to medical information, adverse events, product complaints, and data privacy.

- Excellent project management, strategic thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working in a global, matrixed environment with teams across different regions.

- Ability to work flexible hours to support India, US, and Europe business operations.

- Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% and meet India-based clients in person.

Preferred: Experience in workforce management, process improvement, digital initiatives, and Medical Information Contact Center leadership.

Note: A Pharmacist license is preferred, but an active license is not mandatory for this position.
