Two Postdoctoral Positions - Cell Cycle Biology, Columbia University (Yang Lab)
The Yang Lab at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, part of the Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, is recruiting two postdoctoral fellows. Our approach combines live single-cell imaging, CRISPR functional genomics, and patient-derived organoid models.
Position 1: Basic Cell Cycle Biology
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to study the fundamental principles of cell cycle regulation. Candidates with a strong cell cycle background in any model system (yeast, C. elegans, Drosophila, or mammalian) are welcome.
Position 2: Cancer Cell Cycle Biology and Therapeutic Resistance
We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to study how cancer cells regulate the cell cycle and adapt to escape targeted therapies. Active projects span breast cancer, melanoma, and lung cancer.
For both positions, we are looking for motivated scientists with a PhD (or expected completion soon) in cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, or a related field, a strong publication record, and a genuine interest in mechanistic research. Experience with imaging, CRISPR, or quantitative single-cell approaches is a plus but not required, we welcome applicants eager to build these skills.
