Role Description The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing and administration of employee benefits. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and running regular payroll cycles, managing time and attendance data, handling payroll adjustments, and ensuring compliance with federal and provincial payroll tax regulations. The role also involves administering benefit enrollments and changes, maintaining employee payroll and benefits records, responding to staff inquiries, and supporting audits and reconciliations. The specialist will collaborate with HR and Finance to improve payroll processes, support reporting needs, and uphold confidentiality and data integrity.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in Payroll Administration and Payroll Processing, with experience managing end-to-end payroll cycles.

- Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and the use of Payroll Services platforms, including reporting and compliance requirements.

- Experience handling Garnishments and other statutory or court-ordered payroll deductions.

- Proficiency with payroll and HRIS software, and intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet tools.

- Relevant post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field; PCP or equivalent payroll certification is an asset.

- Previous experience in a manufacturing or similar environment is an advantage.
