THE ROLE
As a Data Scientist you will tackle complex risk and analytics challenges within a growing business. You will work closely with both technical and commercial stakeholders to develop predictive models, uncover insights from large datasets, and contribute to the evolution of innovative risk products.
Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
- Developing and deploying predictive models to support risk assessment and decision-making.
- Using advanced analytics to monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging trends and risks.
- Working with structured and external datasets to generate actionable insights.
- Collaborating with external partners and internal stakeholders to shape data-driven solutions.
- Enhancing existing modelling approaches and exploring new machine learning techniques.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The successful Data Scientist must have the following skills and experience:
- 4-5 years of experience as a data scientist in financial services.
- Strong experience using Python for data analysis and model development.
- Excellent SQL skills with experience extracting, transforming, and analysing complex datasets.
- Experience within credit risk, fraud analytics, or a related quantitative environment.
- Knowledge of supervised machine learning techniques such as logistic regression and gradient boosting.
- Ability to work autonomously, solve complex problems, and communicate insights effectively.
- Exposure to clustering, anomaly detection, AI/LLM applications, or start-up environments would be beneficial.
BENEFITS
The successful Data Scientist will receive a salary up to £85,000 as well as equity.
