Logistics Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to support day-to-day warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations within a fast-paced supply chain environment. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of raw materials, components, and finished goods while maintaining inventory accuracy and supporting production and distribution schedules.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in warehouse and distribution operations, inventory management, and SAP, along with the ability to collaborate across Procurement, Planning, Quality, and other supply chain functions. While the position includes some transportation coordination, the primary focus is warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations rather than transportation logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily logistics activities to support production and distribution schedules
- Coordinate inbound and outbound movement of materials and finished goods
- Oversee warehouse and distribution operations, ensuring materials are received, stored, handled, and distributed efficiently
- Maintain accurate inventory records and resolve inventory discrepancies
- Utilize SAP to manage logistics workflows, inventory transactions, material movements, and reporting
- Support inventory control processes and ensure alignment between physical inventory and warehouse systems
- Coordinate limited transportation activities involving raw materials, components, and finished goods
- Ensure logistics and warehouse activities comply with applicable regulatory, quality, and safety requirements
- Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Planning, Quality, Production, and other internal teams
- Identify logistics issues, investigate root causes, and help implement process improvements
- Support efficient distribution processes while balancing customer requirements, operational needs, and budgetary goals
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred
- 6+ years of overall logistics experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on warehouse and distribution operations experience
- 4–6 years of hands-on SAP experience required
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehouse operations, material movement, and distribution processes
- Demonstrated ability to work within SAP to manage inventory and logistics-related transactions
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Experience working within a regulated environment, particularly pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing/distribution, is highly preferred
