ML Ops Engineer
Remote
Non Visa Candidates Only
Work context Positioned as ML engineering support with a big ML Ops focus, aimed at automating as much of the machine learning pipeline as possible. Described as build-out oriented: a lot exists already, but there is room to build out further.
Responsibilities discussed
- Automate ML pipelines; strong ML Ops emphasis.
- Build out ML Ops capability (development-oriented). Platform management sits with IT and is outside the team's scope.
- Bring an outside perspective to advise the team on what they could do better ("come in and tell us what we're doing wrong").
Technical environment
- Heavily in the Azure world, including Azure AI Foundry.
- The team does not manage the platform itself (IT restrictions), so this is development-focused rather than platform/ops administration.
Persona
- Outside/enterprise experience valued. Ben referenced a prior resource who came from Capital One and brought a strong outside perspective as the model.
- Someone who can advise and even tell the team what to do, not just execute.
- Could realistically be more than one person; recruiting could provide a mix of folks.
Open items
- Exact split between building new components vs. optimizing existing ones was left broad ("potentially building out").
