We’re partnered with one of the largest healthcare-focused investment platforms in the US, which is building a specialist AI innovation group to drive transformation across its portfolio of healthcare, biotech, medtech and life sciences businesses.
They’re looking for a Director of Strategy & Product who can identify where AI and technology can create meaningful business value, turn those opportunities into clear product strategies, and then work with engineering teams to actually deliver them.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable in a strategy session with a CEO and getting into the detail of how a frontline workflow actually operates.
The Opportunity
You’ll work directly with leadership teams across multiple portfolio companies to identify high-impact opportunities for AI and digital transformation.
One week could involve working with executives to define an AI strategy. The next could involve sitting alongside clinical, commercial or operational teams to understand how work actually gets done and where technology could fundamentally improve it.
From there, you’ll determine the right solution.
Sometimes that means evaluating the market and selecting an existing technology vendor. Other times it means partnering with an internal engineering team to design and build a completely new AI-powered product.
The objective is always the same: identify the highest-value problems and turn them into technology that delivers measurable results.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner directly with CEOs and senior leadership teams across portfolio companies
- Identify and prioritize high-impact AI and digital transformation opportunities
- Translate complex operational problems into clear product strategies and roadmaps
- Move between C-suite strategy and frontline environments such as clinics, call centers and operational teams
- Lead build vs. buy decisions across new technology initiatives
- Evaluate AI and enterprise software vendors and identify opportunities that can scale across multiple businesses
- Partner with engineers and technical leaders to take custom AI products from concept through deployment
- Build business cases and implementation plans balancing impact, feasibility and resources
- Prototype ideas using modern AI development tools
- Identify reusable technologies and strategies that can create leverage across the broader portfolio
What We’re Looking For
- 5-7+ years of experience across management consulting, forward-deployed strategy, product management, digital transformation or similar roles
- Experience working directly with C-suite executives and senior stakeholders
- Strong product management experience, ideally taking products from concept through deployment
- Ability to move comfortably between high-level strategy and detailed operational problem solving
- Strong analytical skills and product judgment
- Experience assessing build vs. buy decisions and evaluating technology vendors
- Technical literacy and an understanding of modern AI capabilities
- Comfortable using tools such as Cursor, Lovable, Replit or similar to rapidly prototype ideas
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- High degree of ownership, curiosity and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
- Healthcare experience is highly beneficial, particularly across pharma, biotech, healthtech or healthcare services
Experience with private equity, venture capital, portfolio operations or investment environments would also be valuable.
