At TNG Digital, part of TNG Digital Group, we build the tech behind TNG eWallet, one of Malaysia’s most used apps for payments and everyday life.
Millions of people rely on us daily, not just to pay, but to manage money, access financial services, and get things done faster and simpler.
Behind it all is a team that likes to question how things are done, move quickly, and try new ideas. If you enjoy solving real problems and seeing your work used at scale, you will feel right at home here.
What You'll Do:
- AI Automation Delivery: Design and build AI-powered automation solutions across workflow automation, intelligent processing, and decision support, with a focus on practical business outcomes.
- LLM Integration: Build and integrate LLM capabilities into production applications, including intelligent extraction, content understanding, RAG, and workflow automation. Evaluate models, prompts, architectures, and deployment approaches based on the use case.
- Anomaly & Fraud Detection: Develop automated checks and detection logic to identify manipulated, tampered, inconsistent, or anomalous inputs. Investigate new patterns and continuously improve these controls as new cases emerge.
- Product Expansion: Support expansion into new products, partners, and use cases by building components and workflows that can be reused and adapted across implementations.
- Modern AI Tooling: Work hands-on with current AI models, frameworks, and AI-assisted development tools. Experiment with new approaches, evaluate what works, and bring useful solutions into production.
- End-to-End Ownership: Take features from idea to production, covering prototyping, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
- Production Improvement: Monitor how solutions perform after go-live, investigate failures and edge cases, and use what you learn to improve accuracy, reliability, and automation rates.
- Technical Standards: Contribute to engineering practices around reliability, scalability, monitoring, security, and auditability for systems operating in a regulated environment.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business, product, operations, and technical stakeholders to understand problems, clarify requirements, and translate them into practical technical solutions.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in software engineering, automation, data engineering, AI/ML, or a related technical role.
- Hands-on experience building and running automation pipelines, backend services, or AI-powered applications in production.
- Practical experience working with LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open-source models, including prompt design, structured outputs, RAG, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Python or another programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, or Golang, along with working knowledge of SQL.
- Comfortable working with APIs, data pipelines, and system integrations.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and deploying or operating production services. Exposure to CI/CD, infrastructure as code, containerisation, and production monitoring is a plus.
- Experience with document processing, OCR, document understanding, or data extraction would be an advantage.
- Exposure to fintech, lending, risk, fraud detection, or other regulated environments would be useful.
- Familiarity with rule engines, decisioning systems, or workflow orchestration tools is a plus.
- Understanding of common LLM application patterns such as RAG, embeddings, vector databases, retrieval, and model evaluation.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills, especially when dealing with edge cases, unusual patterns, or unexpected system behaviour.
- Able to write clear technical documentation, including design notes, data flows, and integration specifications.
- Comfortable using AI coding and development tools in day-to-day work, with good judgement on when to rely on them and when to verify the output.
- Able to work independently, take ownership of problems, and collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
