Staff Embedded Firmware Engineer
We are working with a specialist energy technology business developing next-generation battery storage and power conversion systems. They are looking for a Staff Embedded Firmware Engineer to join their R&D team.
The Role
- Develop embedded firmware for battery and power conversion systems
- Develop board and system-level software
- Design firmware architecture and technical requirements
- Develop real-time applications in C
- Use Python for automation and testing
- Work closely with hardware and systems engineers
- Debug and validate firmware and hardware
- Develop sensor drivers and control algorithms
- Take designs from concept through implementation and verification
- Support production launches and field issues
- Mentor junior engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's + 8 years' relevant experience, or Master's + 6 years'
- Strong C programming experience
- Strong bare-metal and RTOS experience
- Python scripting experience
- Experience debugging complex embedded systems
- Experience with hardware testing and debugging
- Experience with Git, GCC, GDB and GNU Make
- Experience taking products from concept through production
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable: Zephyr, ARM Cortex-M, STM32, bootloaders, BMS, inverters, power conversion, cooling controls and closed-loop systems.
