A leading investment platform in Singapore is hiring an AVP-level Financial Crime professional to support its capital markets / trading-related activities. This role sits within a specialist financial crime function and focuses on strengthening controls across market-facing businesses, managing financial crime risk, and partnering with stakeholders to ensure a robust and practical control environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a Financial Crime subject matter partner to capital markets stakeholders (e.g., trading, investment operations, product, onboarding, middle office, and controls teams).
- Perform financial crime risk assessments across products, transactions, client types, geographies, and distribution channels; propose and drive remediation plans.
- Advise on and enhance controls across areas such as:
- AML / CFT risk and typologies relevant to capital markets activity
- Anti-bribery & corruption and fraud risk considerations
- Review and challenge policies, procedures, and operating models to ensure they are effective, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Partner with teams on financial crime requirements for new products, process changes, or transformation initiatives, ensuring controls are embedded at design stage.
- Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on relevant financial crime risks and expectations.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of relevant experience in Financial Crime / AML / sanctions / compliance risk, preferably within a bank, buy-side institution, or regulated financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of capital markets products and activity
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with confidence presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple workstreams.
- Exposure to control design, process improvement, or change / transformation projects.
