Mechanical Engineer

Perunding Kejuruteraan KTR is expanding our engineering team and we are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join us.

POSITION - Mechanical Engineer

Location: [Project Site : Selangor/Johor / Penang]

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: Minimum 5 years relevant experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Undertake mechanical engineering design, coordination, supervision, and project implementation.

· Prepare and review mechanical drawings, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical submissions.

· Coordinate mechanical systems with electrical, civil, structural, architectural, and other disciplines.

· Review contractors' shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, equipment selections, and technical proposals.

· Conduct site inspections and monitor mechanical installation works.

· Ensure works comply with approved drawings, specifications, relevant standards, and authority requirements.

· Attend site meetings and coordinate technical matters with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.

· Assist in testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and project handover.

· Identify technical issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

· Monitor project progress, quality, and technical compliance.

· Prepare technical reports and other project documentation.

· Assist in authority submissions and coordination where required.

Education & Professional Qualifications
· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university.

· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering.

· Experience in M&E consultancy, building services, construction, or contracting will be an advantage.

· Data Centre / Mission-Critical project experience is highly advantageous.

· Registered with Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Graduate Engineer is preferred.

· Professional Engineer (Ir.) status will be an added advantage.

Technical Knowledge & Experience
Experience in the following areas will be advantageous:

· HVAC systems and building services.

· Chilled water systems.

· Chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and associated systems.

· AHU / FCU systems.

· CRAC / CRAH and precision cooling systems.

· Mechanical ventilation and exhaust systems.

· Mechanical piping and hydronic systems.

· HVAC controls and BMS integration.

· Mechanical plant rooms.

· Testing, balancing and commissioning of mechanical systems.

· Preparation and checking of mechanical calculations.

· Preparation and review of mechanical drawings and specifications.

DATA CENTRE EXPERIENCE – STRONG ADVANTAGE
Candidates with experience in Data Centre / Mission-Critical Facilities will be given strong consideration.

Experience in:

· Critical cooling systems.

· Chilled water and heat-rejection systems.

· CRAH / CRAC systems.

· Redundant mechanical systems such as N+1 / 2N.

· Data centre thermal management.

· Critical mechanical plant and infrastructure.

· Testing & Commissioning (T&C).

· Integrated Systems Testing (IST).

· Coordination of mechanical systems with critical electrical and control systems.

· Working within live or operational critical environments.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
· Strong technical and analytical skills.

· Good understanding of mechanical engineering design and building services.

· Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.

· Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM is an advantage.

· Good communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities.

· Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· Good time management and organisational skills.

· Detail-oriented and committed to delivering quality engineering work.

· Able to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.

· Willing to travel to project sites when required.
