Based in Singapore Corporate Office, we are looking for a passionate and energetic individual to join us as Director, Development.

Job Responsibilities:

The Director, Development will support the strategic development effort by both assisting the development team and senior management as well as undertaking self-initiated efforts to source, evaluate and negotiate suitable properties for our portfolio. This position will also assist on development marketing, including developing pitch decks, case studies and representing the company at industry conferences and similar events.

This role offers insight into the growth strategies of the organization as it endeavours to extend its global footprint across its brands. The role provides the opportunity to support the revenue achievements for the corporate office and allows for close connection with the latest developments in the hotel industry, evolving ownership structures, and deal-making. There will be considerable opportunity for career development within this role as its scope grows together with our business and the industry.

Primary Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing, Structuring & Negotiation

- Identify and pursue new management / franchise opportunities (new-build, conversion) for both hotel and serviced suites.

- Conduct feasibility studies, site evaluations, and be responsible for the financial proforma prepared with help from analyst.

- Structure deal terms and negotiate MOU and agreements.

- Negotiate the renewal of existing properties.

- Cultivate and maintain effective business network (owners, developers, asset managers, consultants, third-party operators and designers etc.) to generate deal leads.

- Track market trends, identify white-space opportunities and develop market entry strategies.

Development Marketing

- Craft compelling value propositions and decks tailored to different owners and projects.

- Assist in creating specific deck templates, collateral for different products (resorts, serviced suites etc.) if required, in coordination with corporate brands team.

- Represent the company at industry conferences as a conference panellist, particate in networking events and business meetings with a marketing/branding lens, not just deal-sourcing.

Senior Management Support and Cross Functional Coordination

- Report deal status to Head of Development regularly for preparation for executive committee and board meetings / reports.

- Assist senior management on reviewing investment opportunities when required.

- Serve as the primary relationship point for owners for smooth transition from signing to pre-opening and operations and maintain the owner relationship for future deals.

- Involve in any other activities that support the development activities of the Group.

Other Responsibilities

- Any other duties of a comparable nature as may be required.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized hospitality / tertiary institution

- 5 to 7 years of working experience in hotel development, real estate investment, brokerage, or related field.

- Prior development marketing or hotel law experience would be an advantage.

- Proven track record of closing deals

- Strong negotiation skills

- Deep knowledge of hotel brands, franchise structures, and market dynamics

- Knowledge of ESG and sustainability considerations in hotel development would be an advantage

- Willingness to travel extensively

- Comfortable in presenting and speaking at conferences

- Strong achievement orientation and can work independently

- Able to communicate in both English and Chinese, ability to communicate in a third language will be an advantage.

- Effective relationship builder and adaptive to different cultures

- Digitally savvy, comfortable in using excel, data analytics and digital tools to support decision-making
