NeoFelis Labs Ltd is a UK-registered deep technology company building governance-first AI systems for regulated industrial and clinical environments, with a research programme in energy-efficient neural computation. We are establishing our India research presence across Chennai and Coimbatore, (We have plans to expand to Banglore, Mumbai, Hydrabad, Singapore and Delhi) and we are forming the advisory structure that will guide it.
We are inviting expressions of interest for four bodies:
Board of Advisers — strategic guidance on company direction, market and partnerships.
Scientific and Technical Advisory Board — research direction, technical review, IP strategy.
Ethics and Governance Panel — responsible deployment in regulated and clinical settings.
Sector Advisory Council — domain guidance in automotive, aerospace, industrial automation and women's health diagnostics.
Currently we are active on Agenetic security frameworks and commercial assurance models, that should give you an idea on what we are focussed and will be interested in hearing.
What we are actually asking for
We want to be direct about this, because advisory roles are too often a name on a website and nothing more, and that helps nobody.
A NeoFelis adviser is expected to give four to eight hours a month. That means attending four council sessions a year, providing written review on research outputs, and being genuinely reachable between sessions. Advisers who cannot sustain that will be asked to step back, and we say so at the outset rather than at the point of disappointment.
In return, we take the relationship seriously. Advisers hold equity participation vesting over two years. They are named across our research outputs. They receive co-authorship where their contribution merits it. They have first access to our data, our industrial testbeds and our deployment environments for their own research questions. And for those who want it, there is a defined route into a formal Chief Scientist or CTO-office position as the company funds.
Who we are looking for
Academic: faculty at any grade, or postdoctoral researchers with a strong publication record, working in spiking neural networks and neuromorphic hardware; machine learning systems and efficient inference; biomedical signal processing and diagnostics; industrial control, robotics and automation; AI safety, assurance and governance; regulatory science for medical devices or functional safety.
Industry: senior practitioners with fifteen or more years in automotive, aerospace, medical devices, industrial automation, or AI policy and regulation, particularly those with experience of taking regulated products through approval.
Preferred
- PhD/Masters in a relevant discipline, or fifteen or more years of senior industry experience
- For serving faculty: your institution's consultancy policy must permit external advisory engagement, and we will require written institutional approval before the agreement is executed. We will support you through that process.
- Willing to be publicly named as an adviser
- Able to commit four to eight hours per month for a minimum of twenty-four months

- Realistically, how many hours per month can you give this over the next two years, not in an ideal month, but in a normal one?
- Describe one piece of work you have taken from research question to something used outside your own group. What broke along the way?
- What is your institution's position on external consultancy and IP, and have you engaged externally under it before?
- Which of the four advisory bodies fits you, and why that one?
- What would make you resign from this position?
