Your New Role
As the Lead, Automation Developer, you will join an Agentic Process Automation team responsible for designing and delivering enterprise-grade solutions that combine robotic process automation, AI agents, generative AI, systems integration, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
This is an innovative, hands-on leadership role that combines automation development, Agentic AI, solution architecture, business analysis, and technical delivery. You will help identify automation opportunities, define requirements, select fit-for-purpose technologies, and own solutions throughout their complete lifecycle.
You will work across UiPath, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Microsoft 365 Copilot, Power Platform, and other enterprise AI capabilities.
What You Need to Do
- Design enterprise AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the broader Microsoft AI ecosystem.
- Develop autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents with clearly defined scope, decision logic, guardrails, confidence thresholds, human review checkpoints, exception handling, and audit trails.
- Design multi-agent workflows and orchestration patterns that enable effective reasoning, knowledge retrieval, decision-making, and task execution.
- Build end-to-end agentic process automation solutions combining AI agents, UiPath, Power Platform, enterprise integrations, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, APIs, databases, SaaS applications, and automation platforms.
- Apply UiPath Cloud Platform capabilities, including UiPath Studio, Document Understanding, Integration Service, Action Center, Apps, Communications Mining, and AI Center.
- Leverage Power Apps and Power Automate to deliver fit-for-purpose automation solutions.
- Lead discovery workshops, process assessments, solutioning sessions, and “art of the possible” discussions with technical and business stakeholders.
- Recommend appropriate platforms and solution architectures based on complexity, maintainability, scalability, security, cost, risk, and expected business outcomes.
- Modernise existing RPA solutions by incorporating AI and agentic capabilities where appropriate.
- Define and execute testing strategies covering functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, as well as AI response validation, confidence thresholds, exception scenarios, human review workflows, and model output verification.
- Prepare solution designs, runbooks, deployment manifests, process maps, and technical specifications.
- Provide technical leadership through code reviews, development best practices, governance standards, and mentorship of junior developers.
- Own automation solutions throughout development, deployment, maintenance, support, upgrades, and ongoing operations.
- Partner with AI Delivery, AI Strategy, Data, Security, and Enterprise Architecture teams on advanced AI patterns, reusable intelligence services, custom model components, and broader architecture requirements.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Hands-on experience developing AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, or a comparable agentic AI platform.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot extensibility and declarative agents.
- At least three years of advanced, hands-on experience with UiPath and intelligent automation technologies.
- Strong knowledge of prompt engineering, prompt configuration, AI service consumption patterns, confidence scoring, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Experience designing human-in-the-loop workflows for AI-enabled solutions.
- Understanding of Responsible AI principles, AI governance, explainability, auditability, monitoring, escalation paths, and exception handling.
- Experience integrating AI or automation solutions with APIs, databases, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems.
- Experience creating automated testing frameworks and quality assurance processes for automation and AI solutions.
- Ability to assess technology platforms and recommend solution architectures based on business objectives, risk, scalability, maintainability, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience facilitating requirements workshops, process discovery sessions, partner engagement sessions, and solution design discussions.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor developers, conduct code reviews, and establish development best practices.
The following qualifications would be considered an asset:
- Microsoft AI, Azure AI, Copilot Studio, Business Analysis, or related certifications.
- UiPath Solution Architect or UiPath Agentic Automation Professional certification.
- Experience implementing enterprise Agentic AI solutions using multi-agent architectures.
- Exposure to AI governance, model evaluation, Responsible AI, and AI operationalisation.
- Experience spanning business analysis, process improvement, and software development.
- Experience conducting SME interviews, process assessments, business process mapping, and requirements-gathering sessions.
