Infrastructure Consultant I Remote I £60-£70K
My client specialises in providing IT solutions and managed services to meet the unique objectives of each organisation that we work with. Their approach focuses on modernising workplaces through the utilisation of cutting-edge technologies such as cloud and hybrid infrastructure, AI, cyber security, collaboration, and productivity solutions. Their customers are busy doing really important things like saving lives, protecting people, building new products, and creating new services. To be really good at what they do, they need simple, honest, and expert advice on how technology helps them do it.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience supporting or implementing infrastructure solutions in enterprise or mid-sized environments.
- A deep understanding of Infrastructure.
- Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware and/or Hyper-V.
- Good understanding of Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Understanding of networking concepts including switching, routing, wireless networking, and network security.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery technologies, ideally including Veeam.
- Familiarity with PowerShell or other scripting and automation tools would be advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a willingness to learn and develop technical expertise.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Relevant certifications (or a willingness to work towards them) such as Microsoft, VMware, or networking certifications.
- A proactive approach to learning and developing a career in infrastructure consultancy.
What will you be doing?
- Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud infrastructure solutions for customers.
- Assist with infrastructure deployments, migrations, upgrades, and modernisation projects under the guidance of senior consultants.
- Build and support virtualisation, server, networking, and Microsoft infrastructure platforms.
- Help configure and maintain core infrastructure services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and backup solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across infrastructure, networking, and end-user computing environments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, implementation guides, and customer handover materials.
- Work closely with project teams, service teams, vendors, and customers to deliver successful outcomes.
- Develop your technical and consultancy skills through hands-on project work, mentoring, and industry training.
