Job Description

- The Client is seeking a Risk Analyst V to join its Market Risk Regulatory Reporting team in Toronto.

- The team supports enterprise-wide regulatory submissions, with a focus on liquidity-related reporting, collateral and pledging, securities holdings, liabilities, and institution-to-institution funding.

- The successful candidate will analyze reported exposures, execute reconciliations, investigate data-quality issues, monitor reporting controls, and partner with business and technology teams to deliver accurate submissions on time.

- This is an onsite opportunity within a collaborative team of four, offering meaningful exposure to regulatory reporting, risk governance, controls, and process improvement in a leading financial-institution environment.

Experience: Five to ten years overall experience preferred, with relevant risk, regulatory reporting, controls, or financial-services experience.

Responsibilities
Regulatory Reporting and Risk Analysis

- Support regulatory submission processes by identifying, measuring, analyzing, and monitoring reported exposures.

- Complete accurate analysis and provide clear commentary on results, exceptions, and trends.

- Support liquidity-focused returns, including collateral, securities holding, liabilities, and funding-related reporting.

- Apply knowledge of financial instruments, risk metrics, and regulatory interpretation to reporting activities.

- Escalate issues promptly and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.

Controls, Reconciliations, and Change

- Reconcile source systems, liquidity reporting platforms, general-ledger balances, and other regulatory returns.

- Investigate data-quality issues, reporting discrepancies, and control exceptions through timely resolution.

- Monitor production processes and critical reporting controls against deadlines and service expectations.

- Support new or revised reporting requirements in accordance with change-control procedures and end-user computing standards.

- Cross-train on related processes and contribute to practical process improvements.

Required Skillsets

- Liquidity and collateral risk: Demonstrated measurement, analysis, or reporting experience.

- Regulatory reporting: Experience interpreting requirements and supporting regulatory filings.

- Reconciliation: Ability to reconcile multiple source systems, platforms, general-ledger data, and returns.

- Controls and governance: Practical understanding of risk governance, compliance, control design, and exception management.

- Market risk: Working knowledge of financial instruments and market-risk metrics.

- Data analysis: Ability to investigate discrepancies and explain findings with precision.

- Communication: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills across organizational levels.

- Microsoft applications: Proficiency with standard Microsoft tools.

- Delivery discipline: Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced reporting environment.

- Work model: Ability to work onsite in Toronto four days per week.

Preferred Skillsets

- VBA, Python, or SQL for reporting automation and infrastructure improvements.

- Risk, valuation, or regulatory-reporting systems knowledge.

- Banking or financial-institution experience with liquidity returns or collateral management.

- Experience with formal reporting change control and end-user computing standards.

- Experience working with general-ledger balances and production reporting controls.

- Exposure to stress testing, capital, or broader trading-market-risk processes.

Education: Undergraduate or graduate degree in risk management, business, economics, mathematics, finance, or another quantitative discipline.
