One of the companies we partner with at Joppy is looking to hire a Performance Engineer passionate about driving the performance of web applications through systematic testing, optimization, and a collaborative approach.
🎯 Responsibilities
- Conduct regular performance, load, and stress tests on web applications to ensure compliance with defined SLAs.
- Analyze frontend performance using modern tools such as Lighthouse, WebPageTest, Dynatrace, and browser developer tools.
- Identify performance bottlenecks across frontend, APIs, and infrastructure; recommend and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, architects, and business stakeholders to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Document test strategies, scenarios, and results with clear, tailored reporting for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Champion a performance-first culture by coaching teams and embedding performance testing early in development lifecycles.
- Monitor production environments using real-user monitoring (RUM) and synthetic testing solutions.
- Proactively identify risks and potential degradations in application performance.
- Support troubleshooting of performance-related incidents across multiple system layers.
🛠️ Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in performance testing, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Strong knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, k6).
- Experience with frontend monitoring frameworks and developer tools.
- Proficiency in scripting and test automation (JavaScript, Python, or similar languages).
- Familiarity with CI/CD environments such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular).
- Knowledge of performance optimization techniques including lazy loading, caching, CDN, and minification.
- Understanding of backend/API dependencies and their impact on frontend performance.
- Familiarity with cloud and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to engage confidently with technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to work both independently and collaboratively in an international context.
➕ Nice to have
- Experience in the banking sector or secure, regulated environments.
- Exposure to synthetic monitoring and observability solutions (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, Elastic APM).
- Knowledge of accessibility, security, and compliance standards for frontend applications.
