About the Role
Teach engineering fluid mechanics with a naval specialization, conduct hydrodynamics research, and support curriculum, accreditation, and laboratory development. Engage with maritime and naval industry partners and supervise student research.
Responsibilities
Teaching & Labs
- Teach Engineering Fluid Mechanics for naval applications.
- Conduct hydrodynamics labs, CFD simulations, and experimental demonstrations.
- Prepare manuals, CLOs, OBE alignment, assessments, rubrics, LMS content.
Research & Hydrodynamic Analysis
- Research areas include:
- Ship hydrodynamic performance analytics
- Ocean modelling and environmental fluid mechanics
- Fluid–structure interaction
- Maritime CFD simulations
- Publish in Scopus-indexed journals and present at conferences.
- Supervise research and CFD-based capstone projects.
Accreditation & Curriculum
- Support ABET/CAA accreditation through data collection, KPIs, SSR contributions.
- Involve in curriculum review and continuous improvement.
Institutional Contributions
- Serve on departmental committees.
- Support maritime/robotics competitions and interdisciplinary programs.
- Engage with industry and naval partners for training, internships, and research.
Qualifications
Required
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Engineering, or related.
- Teaching experience at the university level.
- Proficiency in CFD, MATLAB, Python, and modelling tools.
Preferred
- Shipyard, marine industry, or naval research experience.
- Publications in hydrodynamics or ocean engineering.
