Data Scientist

Location: London

Reports to: Head of AI, Data & Technology

Start: Immediate

Salary: £45,000 - £55,000, depending on experience and capability

Role Summary

Odysse is a technology-led mobility company building the operating and intelligence layer for autonomous vehicle fleets.

We use large-scale trip, demand, vehicle, telemetry and operational data from live fleet operations to improve how vehicles are positioned, utilised and operated.

As a Data Scientist, you will turn this data into models, experiments and practical solutions that improve fleet performance. You will work across predictive modelling, fleet optimisation and autonomous mobility, including the simulation and evaluation of our reinforcement learning systems.

This is a hands-on startup role. Your work will be tested against real-world fleet outcomes, and you will be encouraged to use LLMs and modern AI tools to automate, prototype and build quickly.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyse fleet, demand, trip and telemetry data to identify opportunities and solve operational problems.

- Develop features, predictive models and evaluation metrics for fleet optimisation.

- Design experiments and validate AI recommendations against real-world outcomes.

- Contribute to reinforcement learning modelling, simulation and evaluation.

- Use LLMs and AI tools to automate workflows and rapidly prototype solutions.

- Build lightweight data and AI tools and help move successful ideas into live operations.

Essential skills

- Strong analytical, statistical and machine learning fundamentals.

- Practical coding ability, ideally Python and SQL.

- Ability to work with messy, real-world data and turn it into useful solutions.

- Comfortable using modern AI tools to code, automate and prototype.

- Curious, proactive and able to take ownership of problems.

Desirable skills

- Optimisation, reinforcement learning or simulation.

- Geospatial, telemetry or time-series data.

- Azure, Databricks or similar platforms.

- Mobility or autonomous vehicle experience or interest.

What We Are Looking For

We care more about ability, curiosity and execution than years of experience. Exceptional graduates with strong practical experience are encouraged to apply.

We want someone with a startup mindset: get involved, use data and analytics to solve problems, whiteboard solutions with the team, and work with senior management to implement them quickly.

You should enjoy ambiguity, take ownership and be comfortable moving from analysis to implementation.

This is an in-person role based in London.
