Your New Role
As the Intermediate Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ad hoc financial analysis. Working within a fast-paced, multi-location environment, you will contribute to process improvement projects and help support integrations between ERP, POS, and e-commerce platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities.
- Preparing and reviewing account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Supporting financial reporting and performance analysis across an 80+ store network.
- Assisting with annual audit requirements and external reporting requests.
- Contributing to process improvement, automation, and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Supporting ERP and systems-related projects, including integrations and reporting enhancements.
- Collaborating across departments to improve financial controls and reporting accuracy.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA candidate status is preferred.
- 3-5 years of Canadian accounting experience with strong exposure to month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience within retail, e-commerce, telecommunications, multi-unit operations, or another high-volume consumer-focused environment.
- Strong ERP experience, preferably with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar platform.
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Power Query.
- Exposure to Power BI, Power Automate, VBA, or other automation and reporting tools is considered a strong asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
