POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Manager, SCM Operations is responsible for daily operations management, transportation expense optimization, logistics customer service, and appointment management.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Warehouse and Logistics Strategy: Develop and implement strategies that optimize both warehouse space and logistics routes, improving layout, storage methods, and transportation to maximize throughput, reduce handling and transit costs, and ensure quick and accurate order fulfillment.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes across warehousing and logistics, ensuring balanced inventory levels, optimized turnover, and minimizing stockouts or overstock situations. Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software for accurate tracking.
- Process Optimization: Analyze and streamline both warehouse and logistics processes, from receiving, storage, and picking to packing, shipping, and final delivery, to enhance operational efficiency and reduce lead times. Implement best practices and technologies for continuous process improvement in both areas.
- Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to enhance the overall flexibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of the supply chain, ensuring high service levels for customers through integrated warehouse and logistics solutions.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the nexus between warehouse, logistics, and internal stakeholders (sales, procurement, customer service) to ensure seamless coordination of all supply chain activities.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize data analytics tools to track performance in both warehouse operations and logistics, identify inefficiencies, and provide actionable insights. Prepare regular reports on KPIs such as order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, logistics costs, and overall supply chain productivity to provide continuous refinement processes.
- Risk Management: Identify risks and potential disruptions in both warehouse and logistics operations (e.g., capacity shortages, transportation delays, equipment failures) and develop contingency plans to minimize impacts on supply chain performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on both warehouse planning and logistics operations.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and logistics management software like SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms. Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis tools for tracking performance across supply chain segments.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities to assess operational data from both warehouse and logistics and translate it into actionable plans.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading diverse teams, fostering collaboration, and driving high-performance culture in both warehouse and logistics settings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems within both warehouse operations and logistics to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Manufacturing, Logistics, or Supply Chain
- Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies or continuous improvement techniques applicable to both warehouse and logistics.
- Knowledge of global supply chain networks and advanced transportation management.
- Expertise in warehouse automation or logistics technology solutions.
Note: This posting is for an existing vacancy. The expected base salary range for this position is $65,000-70,000. Actual total compensation may include variable incentive pay. The determination of an applicant's base salary is based on the applicant's skills, competencies, location, and unique qualifications.
