Description & Requirements

The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the buzz of a recent tech breakthrough; we work hard, and we work fast - while keeping up the quality and accuracy we're known for. It's what keeps us inventing and reinventing, all the time. Our culture is wide open, just like our spaces. We bring out the best in each other through collaboration. Through our countless volunteer projects, we also help network with the communities around us, too. You can do outstanding work here. Work you couldn't do anywhere else. It's up to you to make it happen.

What's the role?

At Bloomberg Engineering & CTO Finance, we are committed to providing world-class support to our business partners by delivering financial insight, commercial expertise and strategic thought leadership.

We are looking for an experienced specialist to support a new and evolving commercial product within Bloomberg. While Bloomberg provides the scale, resources and infrastructure of an established global organization, this product is at an earlier stage of its development and requires an entrepreneurial, build-from-the-ground-up mindset.

This is a highly visible role for someone who combines strong financial and analytical expertise with creativity, commercial judgment and a willingness to operate beyond traditional functional boundaries. You will help shape how the business grows - developing commercial strategy, pricing and packaging, financial models, market opportunity assessments, KPIs and the processes required to support the product as it scales.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in an environment where not everything has an established playbook. You should enjoy taking ambiguous problems, creating structure, developing a point of view and driving ideas through implementation. You will work closely with Product, Go-to-Market, Engineering and Finance leadership and will regularly develop recommendations for and present to senior management.

We'll Trust You To

- Lead pricing & packaging strategy: Partner with Go-to-Market and Product teams to develop value-based and usage-based pricing models, rate cards, cost analysis and post-launch pricing implementation, including commercial models for AI-enabled products.

- Own the revenue model and forecast: Develop and manage run-rate, bookings-to-billings-to-revenue and revenue waterfall models; deliver quarterly and annual outlooks, scenario analysis, and risk and opportunity assessments.

- Size markets and evaluate commercial opportunities: Conduct total addressable market analysis, market segmentation, competitive assessments and other strategic analyses to help prioritize growth opportunities.

- Develop KPIs and business metrics: Create and maintain measures that give management visibility into business performance and support decision-making.

- Partner with senior management: Translate complex financial and commercial analysis into concise recommendations and confidently present findings, options and trade-offs to senior leaders.

- Build and improve how we operate: Identify gaps in existing processes, develop new analytical frameworks and tools, and create scalable approaches as the business evolves.

- Operate across traditional functional boundaries: Work closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Sales and other teams, taking ownership of problems that may not fit neatly within one function.

- Manage core FP&A responsibilities: Deliver monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting and analysis in accordance with corporate requirements and processes.

You'll Need To Have

- 10+ years of relevant experience across commercial finance, FP&A, strategy, financial analysis or related disciplines.

- A BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Business or a related field.

- An entrepreneurial and creative mindset, with demonstrated experience building new capabilities, processes, commercial models or analytical frameworks rather than only operating established ones.

- A builder mentality, with the willingness to operate both strategically and hands-on. This role requires someone who is comfortable creating rather than simply managing established processes.

- The ability to thrive in a start-up-like product environment within a large, complex organization, balancing speed and creativity with appropriate rigor and stakeholder management.

- Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to connect financial analysis to broader business and product strategy.

- Exceptional executive communication skills, including the ability to develop a point of view, present recommendations to senior management, respond to questions in real time and influence decision-making.

- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to take an ambiguous problem, identify the core issue and drive toward a practical solution.

- Experience leading complex work independently, exercising sound judgment and making decisions with limited oversight.

- Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across Product, Engineering, Sales, Finance and other functions and levels of the organization.

We'd Love To See

- Experience in a start-up, scale-up, new product organization or other entrepreneurial environment, particularly in a role where you were required to wear multiple hats and contribute across finance, strategy, operations and/or commercial decision-making.

- Experience in Strategy Consulting or Revenue FP&A, including market sizing, competitive landscape assessments and commercial opportunity analysis.

- Experience helping launch or scale a new product, business, commercial model or pricing strategy.

- Experience with technology, SaaS, data, analytics or AI-related businesses.

- A degree in a quantitative subject, such as Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics or Mathematics.

- Familiarity with the Bloomberg Terminal, useful but not required.

- Experience with enterprise applications, such as SAP, and data visualization applications such as Tableau or Qlik.
