Job DescriptionPosition Summary

Roles & Responsibilities
• Responsible for leading the design, development, and documentation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems, while providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.

• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, customer requirements, and AI Talent Hunt quality standards
RequirementsTechnical Leadership
o Serve as a technical resource and mentor for Design Engineers and Engineering Interns.

o Provide guidance on complex design challenges, protection schemes, control circuits, and customer requirements.

o Provide peer reviews of the engineering deliverables of less experienced engineers.

o Review engineering deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company standards.

o Support engineering training and knowledge sharing initiatives.

o Assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards, templates, and best practices.
Advanced Design Engineering
o Lead the design and development of complex electrical switchgear systems including general requirements, elevation and plan views, one-line diagrams, schematics, and control circuits.

o Lead the selection and specification of electrical components and provide guidance on component application, coordination, and compliance with project requirements.

o Create and revise engineering drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical).

o Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, ANSI, UL, IEEE).

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical designers, project managers, and manufacturing teams.

o Review and interpret customer specifications and provide technical input during submittal, production, and post-shipment phases.

o Participate in customer technical review meetings and provide engineering expertise during project execution.

o Support resolution of technical issues during manufacturing, testing, commissioning, and post-shipment activities.
Work Environment
o Functions with a high degree of autonomy and technical authority. Expected to independently manage complex projects while providing guidance and support to other engineers.

o Typical work week - 40 hrs.

o This is an on-site position unless approval is given by management based on a major life change

o Willingness to work 10% overtime as needed.

o Travel is not required for this position.

The successful Senior Design Engineer must:

Experience & Education
o The well-qualified Design Engineer will have:

o Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or related engineering discipline.

o 7+ years of experience in switchgear or power distribution equipment design.

o Demonstrated experience leading complex projects from concept through manufacturing and testing.

o Experience reviewing and approving engineering deliverables.

o Experience mentoring or training engineers.

o Advanced understanding of low- and medium-voltage systems (up to 38kV).

o Advanced understanding of electrical protection and control systems.

o Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Microsoft software

o Knowledge of relevant electrical standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, NEMA, etc.).

o Hands-on experience in manufacturing, testing, commissioning, or field service of switchgear (preferred).

• Onsite, 5 days/week in Enoch, UT.

• Shift or schedule requirements: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM MST.

• Compensation range: $85K - $105K Max
