About the Role
We're hiring an IT Project Manager to lead technology projects for a government agency client based in
the Long Beach, NY / Long Island City, NY area. This role is ideal for a PM with a strong IT background
who has experience managing projects within government, public sector, or highly regulated
environments.
What You'll Do
• Own IT projects end-to-end — planning, execution, budget, timeline, and delivery
• Act as the main point of contact between agency stakeholders and internal technical teams
• Build and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk logs
• Track and resolve issues, risks, and change requests, escalating when needed
• Ensure projects follow required compliance, security, and reporting standards
• Coordinate across developers, analysts, QA, and infrastructure teams to hit milestones
• Prepare and deliver status updates, reports, and presentations to leadership and stakeholders
• Run meetings, workshops, and stakeholder check-ins throughout the project lifecycle
• Apply standard PM frameworks (PMI, Agile, or SDLC) based on project needs
What You Bring
• 5–10 years of Project Management experience in IT
• Experience managing projects for or within government agencies (federal, state, or local)
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Solid grasp of IT systems, software development lifecycles, and infrastructure
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities at once
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have
• PMP certification
• Agile/Scrum experience
• Familiarity with FISMA, FedRAMP, or agency-specific compliance standards
• Experience with MS Project, Jira, or similar tools
• Active security clearance (or eligibility to obtain one)
