⚡ Role: Linux Patching Programme Manager
🌎 Location: London
💰 Compensation: £100k+ base + bonus (can be very competitive)
I'm partnered with a leading systematic hedge fund that is looking to hire a Linux Patching Programme Manager to take ownership of patching and security lifecycle activities across a large, global Linux estate.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in a business-critical infrastructure environment, working across Infrastructure, Engineering, Operations and Security to ensure a complex Linux estate remains secure, resilient, compliant and operationally stable.
The successful candidate will have strong experience coordinating Linux patching, vulnerability remediation or infrastructure lifecycle programmes, alongside the stakeholder management skills required to operate across a highly technical and business-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the global patching programme — coordinate Linux patching and security lifecycle activities across a large and geographically distributed estate.
• Coordinate across technical teams — work closely with Infrastructure, Engineering, Operations and Security teams to plan patching activity around business and operational requirements.
• Drive delivery and remediation — manage schedules, dependencies, exceptions and blockers, ensuring risks are identified and remediation activity stays on track.
• Improve the patching function — work with engineering teams to enhance automation, tooling, reporting and deployment processes across the estate.
• Provide visibility and governance — produce clear reporting around patching progress, risks, exceptions and remediation, while ensuring activity is delivered through appropriate change and control processes.
• Ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of Linux infrastructure, security and programme management, with genuine ownership across a global environment.
What We're Looking For
• Experience managing or coordinating Linux patching, vulnerability remediation or infrastructure lifecycle programmes within a large-scale environment.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and infrastructure, with enough technical depth to work effectively with senior engineers and infrastructure teams.
• Proven stakeholder management experience, coordinating across technical, security, operational and business functions.
• Strong programme management, planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, dependencies, risks and deadlines.
• Experience working within highly regulated or business-critical technology environments, ideally financial services.
