We’re looking for a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join an early-stage, AI-native Fintech/Healthtech startup and take ownership of critical product initiatives from idea to production.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role. You’ll take ambiguous problems, turn them into well-defined technical solutions, make key architectural decisions, and ship reliable systems to production with significant autonomy. You’ll work across product, engineering, and business stakeholders and have a direct influence on what we build and how we build it.
We’re looking for someone who moves quickly without compromising engineering quality, treats sensitive data with exceptional care, and is comfortable operating without layers of process or support.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- More than 6 years of backend software engineering experience, with strong expertise in Node.js.
- Experience building and operating production backend systems at scale in an established technology company.
- Experience in fintech, healthtech, or another domain involving complex, sensitive data, such as Payments and billing, Claims and revenue cycle management, Healthcare systems / EHRs, Financial transactions
- Proven experience designing and shipping systems that handle sensitive financial or healthcare data, including PII/PHI and payment information.
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database.
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems from concept through production with minimal direction.
- Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, data modeling, distributed systems, and production reliability.
- Experience working in both structured engineering organizations and fast-moving startup environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and accountability.
- AI-native engineering mindset: You use AI tooling as a natural part of your development workflow and are comfortable building in an AI-first engineering environment.
