• Migrating configurations
• Transitioning between hardware platforms Patching • Evaluating patches • Implementing patch strategies • Managing lifecycle decisions Security • Hardening F5 configurations • Ensuring secure deployments • Evaluating risks Automation • Terraform deployment • Infrastructure as Code • Automated provisioning Troubleshooting • Solving complex production issues • Root cause investigations • Independent problem resolution The expectation is that the individual can begin addressing these responsibilities immediately.
Responsible for network security perimeter
• Load balancers
• Firewalls
• Edge routers
• Cloud networking (growing area) Role Summary This is a senior-level network engineering role focused on:
• F5 load balancers (primary skill)
• Network security and infrastructure design
• Advanced troubleshooting and engineering support Must-Have Skills (Critical Requirements)
F5 Load Balancers (MANDATORY)
• Deep expertise required in:
○ F5 LTM (Local Traffic Manager)
○ F5 GTM (Global Traffic Manager / DNS)
• This is the most critical skill gap on the team and candidates without strong F5 experience
Automation:
• Terraform (highly desired)
• Ansible
Networking & Security:
• Firewall expertise (especially Palo Alto)
• Cisco routing knowledge
Cloud:
• Experience in any:
○ AWS Cloud Front
○ Azure Cloud (Network layer, firewalls, load balancers)
○ GCP (Network layer, firewalls, load balancers)
• Familiarity with CloudFront
