The Role
We are looking for a senior, hands-on engineer who can independently lead complex Agentic AI deployments from technical discovery through implementation, validation and customer handover.

You will serve as a senior technical owner across customer projects, working closely with the founders while providing continuity of technical leadership across concurrent deployments. Projects may span AI-enabled security assurance, secure product development, regulatory readiness and other advanced enterprise applications.

This is a broad startup role combining solution architecture, applied AI, platform deployment and customer-facing technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead customer deployments from requirements discovery and architecture design through implementation, testing and handover.

- Translate technical, security and business requirements into practical Agentic AI workflows and delivery plans.

- Design and implement multi-agent systems incorporating orchestration, retrieval, tool use, structured context, human review and evidence generation.

- Lead technical discussions with customer security, infrastructure and engineering teams.

- Own technical planning, dependencies, risk identification, delivery milestones and engineering quality.

- Develop and deploy AI-enabled cybersecurity and assurance workflows across product and engineering environments.

- Apply sound cybersecurity and secure-system principles to solution design, testing and deployment.

- Ensure that system outputs are reliable, reproducible and suitable for expert review.

- Deploy and operate solutions across cloud, on-premise and restricted environments.

- Establish reliable practices for containerisation, model serving, access management, logging, monitoring, upgrades and recovery.

- Review code and architecture, troubleshoot complex issues and mentor junior engineers.

- Convert project-specific work into reusable platform components and deployment patterns.

- Represent Nestria confidently in customer workshops, technical demonstrations and project reviews.

Required Experience

- Approximately 8+ years of experience across one or more of software engineering, AI/ML systems, platform engineering or technical solution delivery, or equivalent experience leading complex technical implementations.

- Strong hands-on programming skills, preferably in Python, with experience building production-quality systems and integrations.

- Practical experience building or deploying LLM-powered applications, agentic workflows, retrieval systems or AI automation platforms.

- Experience independently leading technically complex customer projects.

- Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, containers, Linux environments, networking, authentication and secure deployment.

- Experience deploying applications in cloud and customer-managed environments.

- Working knowledge of cybersecurity and secure-engineering principles, with the ability to apply them to system design, testing and deployment.

- Ability to convert ambiguous requirements into an executable technical plan and communicate technical trade-offs clearly.

- Strong software-engineering practices covering testing, code review, version control, documentation and release management.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work directly with enterprise engineering and security teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Background in product security, firmware, embedded systems, cryptography or hardware security.

- Experience in the semiconductor, hardware-product, safety-critical or critical-infrastructure sectors.

- Strong understanding of core cybersecurity concepts, secure-system design, threat analysis and vulnerability assessment.

- Experience applying AI or automation to security, assurance or complex engineering workflows.

- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards, product-security obligations or regulatory-readiness frameworks.

- Experience working with private, customer-managed or restricted computing environments.

What Success Looks Like
Within the first six months, you should be able to:

- Independently lead a customer deployment and act as its primary technical owner.

- Understand Nestria’s core architecture and safely make implementation and deployment decisions.

- Establish repeatable deployment, testing, monitoring and release practices.

- Strengthen at least one AI-enabled security or assurance workflow from prototype to customer-ready implementation.

- Reduce founder dependency for routine architecture, delivery and troubleshooting decisions.

- Guide other engineers while maintaining technical quality across projects.
