Role Description The Generative AI Engineer is a full-time, on-site role located in WP Kuala Lumpur. This role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing generative AI models for applications such as text, image, and multimodal content generation. Day-to-day tasks include experimenting with state-of-the-art architectures, building data pipelines, training and fine-tuning models, and evaluating performance using appropriate metrics. The engineer will collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, integrate models into production systems, and ensure reliability, scalability, and responsible AI practices. The role also includes documenting work, reviewing code, and staying current with research developments to continuously improve Nervesis’ AI capabilities.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of machine learning and deep learning, including experience with generative models (e.g., transformers, diffusion models, VAEs, GANs).
- Proficiency in programming for AI development, ideally in Python with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience building and managing data pipelines, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and dataset curation for training and evaluation.
- Understanding of software engineering practices, including version control (e.g., Git), unit testing, code review, and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with deploying AI models to production environments, using APIs, containers (e.g., Docker), and cloud or on-premise infrastructure.
- Ability to analyze model performance, apply optimization techniques, and use evaluation metrics to iterate on model quality and efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate product needs into clear technical specifications and system designs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams and explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in responsible and ethical AI, including awareness of bias, fairness, and security considerations in generative models.
