A Global IT Service firm is looking for an experienced IT Program Manager to lead large-scale technology transformation programs involving AI and other technologies.
The successful candidate will be one of the early employees helping to build the team and establish processes in Japan, gaining hands-on experience in supporting the setup and growth of a new local office and delivery organization.
The IT Program Manager will oversee multiple projects and Project Managers while acting as a bridge between Japanese clients, the Japan team, and global delivery teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead large-scale IT and digital transformation programs involving AI and other technologies
- Define and execute roadmaps for multi-year IT initiatives aligned with client and business goals
- Take ownership of program delivery across quality, budget, schedule, resources, and client satisfaction
- Manage program budgets, forecasts, timelines, risks, and project dependencies
- Establish governance, KPIs, reporting structures, and executive updates
- Supervise and coordinate Project Managers and project teams to ensure delivery quality and progress
- Act as a bridge between Japanese customers and global delivery teams
- Work closely with Japanese and international stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication
- Help establish local processes, governance, delivery standards, and ways of working as the Japan organization grows
- Identify and manage project and program risks
- Manage client, vendor, and third-party relationships
- Support negotiations around work orders, scope changes, estimates, and project requirements
- Identify additional opportunities within existing client accounts and support business growth
- Support pre-sales activities and ensure strong client satisfaction
Required Skills:
- 15+ years of experience in the IT industry
- Experience managing large-scale IT programs or multiple complex technology projects
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and governance
- Experience leading Project Managers and technical delivery teams
- Experience working directly with enterprise clients and senior stakeholders
- Good understanding of IT technologies, digital transformation, and current technology trends
- Ability to work effectively across Japanese and global teams
- Good communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

Working Hours: 9:00 – 18:00 (Mon-Fri)
Working Style: One day per week in office
