About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, cloud-native backend systems and AI-powered platforms. You will be responsible for architecting highly available microservices, designing APIs, building data processing pipelines, and developing backend systems that support large-scale NLP and AI workloads.
This role requires strong expertise in backend development using Python and Node.js, deep experience with AWS cloud services, and hands-on knowledge of processing large datasets to build enterprise AI solutions. You will work closely with architects, data scientists, frontend engineers, DevOps, and product teams to deliver secure, high-performance applications.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Architecture & Development
- Design and develop scalable backend applications using Python and Node.js
- Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs and asynchronous event-driven services.
- Design modular, reusable, and maintainable software following industry best practices.
- Lead backend architecture discussions.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
AI, NLP & Data Processing
- Design and implement large-scale document and data processing pipelines.
- Build backend systems supporting AI and NLP workloads.
- Develop services for processing structured and unstructured datasets.
- Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) and other AI services into enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to deploy production-ready machine learning models.
- Optimize AI inference pipelines for performance and cost.
Cloud Engineering (AWS)
Design, deploy, and manage cloud-native applications using AWS services including:

DevOps & Platform Engineering
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

- Improve deployment automation and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in backend software development.
- Proven experience designing scalable distributed systems.
- Strong experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Experience working with large datasets and high-throughput systems.
- Hands-on experience deploying production applications to Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns and system architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and Node.js.
- Experience building AI-driven enterprise platforms.
- Experience developing NLP applications.
- Experience integrating commercial or open-source LLMs into production systems.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST, or other regulated environments.
- Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Experience with performance tuning and cost optimization on AWS.
