Missions
You will work directly with the founders and the early team to build the core AI and backend systems that power the platform.
As a founding engineer, you'll have end-to-end ownership across the stack — shaping the technical architecture, pushing the boundaries of our AI capabilities, and helping define the engineering culture of the company.
This is a foundational role: the systems, patterns, and product decisions you help create will become the backbone of the company as they scale.
On a typical day you might:
- Design and build the agentic platform – developing the workflow engine that orchestrates agents and sub-agents, and expanding the capabilities of their agentic architecture.
- Engineer state-of-the-art AI agents – building the appropriate harnesses, fine-tuning LLMs on specific tasks when relevant, and generally leveraging the latest AI research & engineering best practices
- Build the core platform infrastructure, including tooling for running, monitoring, and evaluating AI systems and agent workflows.
- Architect scalable backend systems that power the core product and support scalable, reliable agent execution.
- Build robust data ingestion pipelines working with a variety of structured sources (e.g. APIs, ERPs, SFTPs) as well as semi-structured & unstructured documents (e.g. emails, PDFs, Excel)
Who they are looking for:
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments, preferably at a fast-scaling startup or tech company
- Strong software engineering fundamentals - you write clean, maintainable code and care about architecture
- Experience with NodeJS/Typescript and building scalable APIs with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Hands-on experience with LLMs – you've shipped features using GPT, Claude, or similar models in production
- Understanding of ML/AI concepts – RAG, embeddings, vector search, prompt engineering, fine-tuning (academic ML background not required)
- Database expertise – both SQL and NoSQL, data modeling for complex business logic
- Coding Agent wizard – you’ve embraced spec-driven development and routinely drive multiple parallel agents to ship well-architecture systems & features
Stack:
- Backend: A mix of Python & Typescript with PostgreSQL on the AI, harness & data side; Ruby/Rails on the platform side.
- AI/ML: AWS Bedrock, LangChain/LangGraph, vector databases, prompt engineering
- Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes
- Monitoring: Langfuse, Sentry, HyperDX
Additional information:
- Strong VC backing – Well-funded with runway to execute and scale
- Office in Paris, flexibility with remote, but team moments are important - ideally the candidate will bebased in Paris.
- Salary up to 100 K€ depending on seniority + BSPE
