Job Title: Senior Telecommunications Network Engineer- MPLS-TP
Location: Sydney/Melbourne, Australia
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead MPLS-TP mobilisation, requirements confirmation, interface workshops, detailed design, design reviews, configuration, commissioning, cutover and handover activities.
- Develop and maintain MPLS-TP HLD/LLD, topology and physical/logical network diagrams, service mapping, port allocation, QoS, OAM, protection switching, synchronisation, alarm and NMS integration designs.
- Support lab configuration, BOM validation, rack/cable/interface documentation, VMR validation, FAT/FIT, SAT/SIT and end-to-end service acceptance testing.
- Develop and support commissioning, cutover, rollback and readiness plans, including VMR cutover support, go/no-go decisions, onsite/remote commissioning and defect resolution.
- Coordinate with installation, project management, operations and adjacent workstreams, manage design review actions, update as-builts, support handover and provide 3 months post-go-live support.
Skills Required:
- Strong hands-on expertise in MPLS-TP equipment, network architecture, configuration, commissioning and transport network design.
- Proficient in MPLS-TP LLD/HLD, topology, QoS, OAM, protection switching, synchronisation/timing, alarms, NMS/FOXMAN/UNEM and VMR transport design.
- Strong experience in FAT/FIT, SAT/SIT, lab testing, service provisioning, end-to-end validation, failover/recovery, configuration backup/restore and acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of VMR interfaces including V.28 and 4W E&M, audio paths, E&M signalling, voter operation, automatic changeover, latency and alarm/recovery validation.
- Strong technical leadership, stakeholder coordination, design review, documentation, defect management and cutover planning skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces and technical quality.
