Job Description & Skill Requirement
- Mechanical engineer for Boat Group’s conceptual research and development work
- CAD knowledge: - Simens NX, Teamcenter and solid work
- Surfacing, modelling, drawings, large assembly handling, Sheetmetal design and weldment design
- Candidate must be able to support advanced conceptual design rather than production engineering or released boat-part drawings. The work involves converting industrial design concepts and surface models into usable CAD, determining mechanisms, materials, fit, and other details, and preparing prototype-ready outputs that can later be handed to production engineers.
- Knowledge of an aluminium weldment rack for the rear of a boat, a mechanism that moves a flight board in and out of the water while remaining attached to the boat, and fold-down swim steps with an integrated folding mechanism. The resource would develop the mechanisms and turn designers’ conceptual drawings into practical CAD models
- Candidate must be able to support managing and validating 3D-printed models, shell Molds, and production Molds previously documented.
Prototype support:
- Candidate must be able to handle prototype life cycles from design to proto build.
- Candidate also able to work with external prototype suppliers and may be able to identify vendors relevant to boat projects because some suppliers serve both the RV and marine industries.
