About Cytodyme
Cytodyme is looking for a software Engineer to help define the technical foundation of our platform as we enter our next phase of growth.
We build software for life sciences companies managing quality and regulatory workflows across the product lifecycle. Today, much of that work is slowed down by fragmented tools and unnecessary manual work. By automating and connecting these workflows, Cytodyme helps teams reduce the operational burden of staying compliant so they can spend more time bringing life-saving technologies to patients.
Over the past year, Cytodyme completed the Techstars San Diego accelerator, launched pilot programs, secured paying customers, and was selected as a finalist in the San Diego Angel Conference, placing in the top 6 out of more than 135 companies.
This role offers the opportunity to work directly with customers and founders, lead technical decisions, shape the product, and help build the engineering team as the company grows.
More importantly, you'll help solve a problem that impacts the entire life sciences industry. You'll work directly with the people experiencing these challenges every day and help build the solutions they rely on.
The Role
We're looking for a Software Engineer who's comfortable in React, TypeScript and SQL and can ship in a modern CI/CD workflow. You'll work directly with senior engineers on features that go into a live compliance product used by pharma and biotech teams, including our AI/LLM-powered functionality. This is a role where you'll learn a genuinely hard domain quickly, own real work early, and get mentorship instead of being thrown in a corner.
You don’t need prior experience in regulatory compliance. We’re looking for an engineer who takes initiative, works with urgency, and ships reliable, well-tested code. You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, making sound technical decisions, and owning your work through production.

What You'll Do
- Build and ship features across our compliance platform in React + TypeScript
- Work with SQL to query, model, and debug the data behind our workflows
- Contribute to our AI/LLM-powered features [e.g., LLM-assisted document generation, RAG over compliance data] and learn to build with them responsibly in a regulated context
- Collaborate with the engineering team through pull requests, code reviews, testing, and our CI/CD workflow
- Debug real issues in a real product and learn our stack and domain as you go
- Work directly with customers to support their initial go-lives by troubleshooting, answering technical questions, and helping them get up and running on the platform
- Contribute to code reviews and grow into owning larger pieces of the system over time
- Write unit and integration tests as a normal part of your workflow, not an afterthought
What We're Looking For
- 0–5 years of professional experience, an internship, or a strong project portfolio that shows you can build real software
- Working proficiency in TypeScript and strong JavaScript fundamentals
- Comfort with SQL, including writing queries and reasoning about relational data
- Comfort working in a CI/CD workflow using Git, pull requests, automated builds. You don't need to have built a pipeline, but you should be at home working inside one
- Comfort working with Infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Curiosity and low ego: you ask questions, take feedback well, and want to get better fast
- Clear communication and a willingness to work directly with customers. You can explain a technical issue to a non-engineer and stay calm under pressure
- A habit of writing tests, and an understanding of why they matter
Nice to Have
- Any exposure to regulated software (pharma, biotech, medical, fintech) or standards like GxP / 21 CFR Part 11. This experience is uncommon, and a genuine bonus if you have it
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Fluency with agentic AI coding tools like Claude Code or Codex. You should be comfortable using them for real feature work and know when to trust the output and when to throw it away. In a regulated codebase, judgment about what the tool gets wrong matters as much as speed.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $85,000-$110,000 annually, based on experience
