At IMX Data, we translate raw healthcare data into low-latency, transparent insights that help hedge funds, analysts, and financial institutions build predictive models and track healthcare-utilization trends. Our proprietary datasets sit at the intersection of healthcare and the capital markets—and the models we build inform real investment decisions.
THE ROLE:
We're hiring a Data Scientist to apply advanced statistical, machine-learning, and quantitative techniques to our proprietary healthcare data—building the indices, data products, and predictive models our clients depend on. You'll work across quantitative finance, ML/LLM engineering, and healthcare analytics, partnering with analysts, engineers, and institutional clients to turn complex data into decisions. The ideal candidate pairs a strong foundation in statistics and data science with a working knowledge of financial markets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
● Data engineering — Strengthen data pipelines with our technical teams; source and preprocess data from databases, APIs, public datasets, and web scraping; and lead efficient AWS-to-GCP migration and storage optimization.
● Data visualization – Implement dashboards and AI-based solutions to present data to meet customized needs.
● Analysis at scale — Review large and complex datasets for trends and pattern analysis.
● Machine learning & LLMs — Build and fine-tune ML and LLM solutions—including RAG pipelines, vector-database indexing, and query routing.
● Healthcare analytics — Apply ML in the healthcare domain to segment, analyze, and forecast utilization for client use cases.
● Communication & research — Translate findings into clear visualizations, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and senior management, and track emerging techniques across data science and quantitative finance. Manage internal and external stakeholders.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
● Master's or PhD in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
● Proven experience in data science and/or quantitative finance.
● Strong programming skills in Python (and similar languages), with hands-on experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data-visualization tools.
● Solid database management and SQL (required).
● Working knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and investment strategies.
● Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills—able to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
WHAT WE OFFER:
● Competitive salary with equity package.
● Comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance.
● A collaborative, innovative work environment.
● Challenging, high-impact projects at the intersection of healthcare and finance.
