Job Summary
The Trading Market Risk team provides independent oversight and effective challenge of trading market risks across the securities division. The team is responsible for establishing and maintaining market risk frameworks, policies, limits, and standards while ensuring risk exposures, capital requirements, and key risk results are appropriately measured, monitored, challenged, and reported. Our professionals partner closely with business leaders to provide insight on risk positions, emerging risks, trading strategies, stress testing, and market risk capital, helping the Bank achieve its growth objectives while operating within its risk appetite. The team plays a critical role in strengthening governance, enhancing controls, and driving strategic transformation initiatives across the market risk ecosystem.
Within the Market Risk Regulatory Reporting team, the team is responsible for compiling a number of enterprise-wide regulatory submissions, including filings relating to Liquidity data which encompasses the H4 Collateral and Pledging, Securities Holding Return, 2L EB-ET Liabilities report and Institution-to-Institution Funding.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Market Risk, the Analyst's accountabilities include the responsibilities listed below.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the various regulatory submission processes by independently identifying, measuring, analyzing and monitoring the reported exposures. Ensure all analysis is complete and accurate with thorough commentary, while escalating issues in a timely manner.
- Execute reconciliations between source systems, liquidity reporting platforms, general ledger balances, and other regulatory returns.
- Investigate data quality issues, reporting discrepancies, and control exceptions, driving timely resolution with business and technology partners.
- Monitor production processes and critical reporting controls to ensure adherence to regulatory reporting deadlines and service level expectations.
- Cross train and support other related processes as required.
- Execute infrastructure changes with regards to implementation of new, or revised reporting requirements and ensure that changes are executed in accordance with Market Risk change control procedures and EUC standards.
- Develop and maintain a good understanding of the analytical principles underlying the pricing and risk management of financial products.
Required Skills
- Experience with Collateral and/or Liquidity Risk measurement and reporting
- Experience with regulatory interpretations and regulatory filings
- Strong communication (written & verbal) and inter-personal skills to facilitate working with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Good understanding of risk management, governance compliance and controls practices
- Knowledge of financial instruments, regulations and market risk metrics, gained through academic study, or practical experience
- Proficient with Microsoft applications
- Programming skillsets such as VBA, Python, SQL are an asset to develop, modify and continually improve the risk management infrastructure used to capture and analyze risk
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle pressure and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Proactive and highly motivated individual, who enjoys process improvements and is willing to take and manage initiatives
- An independent and critical thinker, who is able to learn and adapt quickly, while taking initiative to capitalize on opportunities, or minimize problems

Preferred Skills
- Risk, Valuations and/or reporting systems knowledge is an asset
- Experience with liquidity returns or collateral management within the Banking/Financial Institution industry
Education Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in Risk Management, Business, Economics, Mathematics, Finance, or other quantitative disciplines
Required Experience
- 5–10 years of overall experience
