About ReN3
ReN3 is a sovereign AI platform for the enterprise, built to unify an organization's knowledge and let teams execute AI-powered work under strict governance and access control. About the Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (Infrastructure), you own the platform's runtime — standing up, hardening, and operating Kubernetes clusters inside client environments, including fully air-gapped, network-isolated infrastructure with no outbound internet. This is not an application-development role, you will not be writing backend services. You are the person who gets the cluster healthy, maintains it and can prove it under audit. When a client's environment has no internet, no public registries and no vendor support on-site, you will be the one who makes the platform run.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, harden, and operate Kubernetes clusters in client environments — including fully offline, air-gapped installs with no external registry or package access
- Own cluster lifecycle: install, upgrade, node management, networking (CNI), storage (CSI), and ingress, in constrained or fully isolated environments
- Build and maintain offline deployment pipelines — private registries, image mirroring, air-gapped Helm chart delivery, dependency bundling
- Manage infrastructure-as-code for repeatable, auditable deployments (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent)
- Set up and maintain observability for disconnected environments — metrics, logs, and alerting (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, or equivalent) with no reliance on external SaaS
- Own security posture at the infra layer: RBAC, network policies, secrets management, image scanning, and compliance evidence for sovereign/regulated deployments
- Work directly with client IT/infra teams on-site to resolve platform, network, and access issues in real time
- Build and maintain deployment runbooks so any environment can be stood up repeatedly and handed off cleanly
- Feed field learnings on deployability and operability back into the core platform team
What We're Looking For
Must-have
- Singapore Citizen (Category 1 clearance required)
- Strong, hands-on Kubernetes experience — cluster installation, operations, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management in production
- Proven experience deploying and operating workloads in air-gapped or network-isolated environments — offline image registries, mirrored package repos, no-internet installs
- Solid grasp of container networking, storage, and security fundamentals (CNI, CSI, RBAC, network policies, secrets management)
- Comfortable working independently on-site with limited tooling, limited connectivity, and direct client interaction
- Infrastructure-as-code fluency (Terraform, Helm, Ansible, or equivalent) for repeatable deployments
- Strong communication skills — able to work directly with client technical/IT staff and explain infra decisions clearly
Nice-to-have
- Experience with vSphere/TKGI or other on-prem/private-cloud Kubernetes distributions
- Familiarity with microservices and event-driven systems from an operations (not development) perspective — enough to reason about service dependencies and failure modes
- Prior work in defense, government, finance, or other highly regulated sectors
- Experience building or maintaining private container registries and offline CI/CD pipelines
