A leading South African technology and engineering business is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing multidisciplinary team developing innovative IoT, energy management, and operational intelligence solutions across Africa.

What You'll Be Doing
- Own, design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and services
- Manage and optimise containerised environments for performance and cost efficiency
- Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines
- Implement infrastructure security controls, compliance measures, and vulnerability management processes
- Develop monitoring, observability, and alerting solutions using modern tooling
- Troubleshoot production incidents and implement preventative improvements
- Support products and services throughout their full lifecycle, including deployments, enhancements, and releases
- Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, QA teams, and Operations stakeholders to streamline delivery and improve reliability
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant qualification
- 2 to 5 years of DevOps experience
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Experience writing technical documentation
- Practical experience with Linux environments
- Experience with scripting using Bash, Python, and/or Node.js
- Strong containerisation experience
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD
- Database administration and design experience, preferably PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Hetzner, or similar cloud technologies
- Working knowledge of quality management processes and standards
Advantageous Experience
- UI/UX exposure
- AWS DevOps Engineer certification or similar cloud certifications
